“Summer, after all, is a time when wonderful things can happen to quiet people. For those few months, you’re not required to be who everyone thinks you are, and that cut-grass smell in the air and the chance to dive into the deep end of a pool give you a courage you don’t have the rest of the year. You can be grateful and easy, with no eyes on you, and no past. Summer just opens the door and lets you out.”
Here are some of my personal summer experiences. My trips to Hawaii and Yosemite, and everything in between; some were shot on my nikon dslr, others on my pentax film camera and the rest on my iPhone. (I'm a firm believer in the "best camera" being the one in your hand!;) )
Honolulu, Hawaii, May 2012
This dancer at a luau looked EXACTLY like the Rock!
Some adventures around home.
My birthday, chowing down at the Cheesecake Factory of course.

Breakfasts with Grandma are my favorite.
Yosemite, CA, August 2012
My addiction. I instragrammed a picture like this once a week... without shame.
Almost every morning I would get coffee and take Jackson for a walk on the beach. It was absolute perfection.
My beautiful friend Monica :)
A big part of my summer was a LOT of editing, but I certainly loved it. This weekend was the 6-month anniversary of my photography business and I owe all the success and fun I had to a wonderful summer
My summer is ending in the best way possible.
Two weeks ago Sam and I moved in together. Our first apartment!!!!
It a teeny tiny little space where we are having so much fun just doing life together. We are both back in school and working so our schedules are insanely full, but at night when we have time to cook dinner, watch a movie, and take Jackson for a walk.. its PERFECT.
I hope you all had a summer as wonderful as mine-- and I hope autumn is even better!
